All weddings are
beautiful and sacred ceremonies
demonstrating an act of love. Over the years, I have
officiated all sorts of weddings and unions to bring loving
couples together. Each wedding is always designed to fit your
needs, desires, and circumstances. I can provide a beautiful
ceremony for most faiths, religions, and philosophies. I also am
willing to work with you to fit most financial circumstances,
whether you want an inexpensive "no frills" wedding at your home
or our location, or all the way to that big, elegant event.
Each wedding
ceremony is designed to fit your love and lifestyle.
When
I help a couple get married it makes me remember my own story of
discovery and joy. My wife Nora and I were married in 1981 and
have had a long and wonderful relationship. I look back to all
of the experiences in my life that led me to finding my true
love and see that it has molded me to take the path of an
Ordained Minister.
I was raised in
New York City and grew up as a member of Christ Church,
Methodist. In high school, I was an acolyte and MYF president. My
mother said I should be a Minister, but at the time I had my
sights set on becoming a famous Shakespearean actor.
I focused
on the theatre and graduated from Northwestern University's
theatre department. I acted professionally for ten years. I
received voice training at the National Theatre of Canada, and
have had lots of experience performing in front of large
audiences. Standing up in front of hundreds or even thousands of
people does not faze me even a little bit. I am calm and
assured, and not easily shaken.
In 1976, I decided to start teaching Yoga
along with my acting career. The combination of both physical
and mental teachings work well with my theatre experiences.
Years later, I moved to Phoenix, Arizona, and created my own
business called
Ted's Gentle
Yoga. Since 1987, I have been teaching yoga courses at
locations throughout the Phoenix area. Some of the more
prominent locations where I have taught are: ASU West, Glendale
Community College, Scottsdale Community College, the Cowden
Center, Terros, the Parks & Recreation Departments of Phoenix
and Glendale, the A.R.E. Clinic, Sun Health Community Education,
the Arizona Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired, the
Scottsdale YMCA, and for five years at the Annual Conference of
the Arizona Public Defender Association. I have been teaching
for many years and have a first hand knowledge of the Phoenix
area.
In
2006, I was ordained and I began my Ministerial calling. I
started my own
wedding service called Marriage Phoenix.
I have performed
weddings for many couples at settings all over the Phoenix area.
Many of the ceremonies have been in fancy resorts, restaurants
and reception halls, while others have been simpler events at
people's homes, apartment clubhouses, and outdoor settings like
area parks, backyards, and even the Desert Botanical Gardens.
I
am open to almost any setting to enhance the beauty of your
wedding day.
All of my life
experiences have led me to being the person you
would want to hire for your wedding ceremony. My
acting career has given me the vocal skills and
presence necessary to create the perfect atmosphere
at your event. I have extensive knowledge on how to
handle audiences and create the right ambiance
expected of your Minister. My teaching experience
has given me the patience and confidence to work calmly with couples who wish to get
married - and their
families! I am calm and reassuring, and not easily shaken by
unexpected mishaps or stressful situations. I believe I have struck the perfect balance
that will create for you a heartfelt and beautifully spoken
ceremony that your friends and family will enjoy and remember. I
look forward to being a part of your special day!
With sincere
blessings,
